What is GLYDE
GLYDE offers you an easy way of transportation in cities and urban areas through dockless electric kick-scooter sharing. Our mission is to create a sustainable and effortless ride experience for the everyday commuter. Our customers should be empowered to travel on their own terms and experience a more connected city. The GLYDE Scooters are powered by an electric battery, getting you to a maximum speed of 20-25km/h depending on local laws.
Do I need to pay to download the GLYDE app
No, it’s totally free.
Pricing of GLYDE
There is a 5 SEK activation fee to unlock a GLYDE Scooter plus a variable fee of 2.80 SEK per minute. No other registration fee or upfront payment. If you e.g. rent GLYDE for 10 mins that will cost you 33 SEK (5 SEK to unlock + 10min x 2.80 SEK).
How much is 1 credit worth
1 Credit is equal to 1 SEK. So whenever you refer a friend you can get 15 free credits which equals to 15 SEK.
Pre-Authorization on Registration
To validate that you have a valid debit/credit card we do a pre-authorization. We reserve some amount (in SEK) whenever a customer sign up or adds a new debit/credit card to validate the card can be charged. There is no transfer of funds and the authorization will be canceled immediately. So do not worry, we do not charge you any money for signing up we just validate that your card is valid.
What do I need
To be able to rent a GLYDE you must fulfil the following:
- you're 18 years or older
- you own a smartphone
- and a valid credit card
Where can I return my GLYDE
Your GLYDE must be returned within our service area (within the yellow border in the map view for your specific city). The GLYDE must not be returned outside of this area or within a non-parking zone. However you can park the vehicle outside of the service area but if you would like to end your ride this must be done within the service area.
Where can I park my GLYDE
So if you feel like taking a break or going for a small snack you can park your GLYDE and reserve it for yourself till you get back on the ride again. You are only restricted to park within a non-parking zone. Besides that all the areas are allowed for parking your GLYDE. But remember parking does not end your ride. To end your ride and reservation you need to end your ride by sliding "end ride" button.
If your GLYDE get stolen
You’re only responsible for your GLYDE scooter during your rental. Make sure you end the rental correctly by parking your GLYDE in a suitable spot and tapping “end rental” in the app.
Become a GLYDER + Join the movement
Watch out for the yellow GLYDE Scooters or download the GLYDE app to see if and where we’re active in your city! All available GLYDE Scooters will then be displayed on the map.
How do I sign up
You can sign up within few minutes directly in our app:
- Download the GLYDE app in the Apple Store or GooglePlay Store
- Create an account with your email address and a password of your choice
- Quickly add your credit card details
- You’re ready to rent your first GLYDE Scooter
How do I rent a GLYDE
Open the GLYDE app to view available vehicles. When you’re close enough to a GLYDE you can unlock the vehicle via the GLYDE app, either by selecting the vehicle or by scanning the QR-code.
Sharing your referral code
After your registration you’ll receive an email that includes your personal referral code. You can share this code with your friends. Or find and share your code directly in the app.
You will receive 15 free credits to ride for.
How do I end the ride
Before ending the ride, make sure your GLYDE is parked in an suitable and accessible area and that it is not blocking sidewalks, public roads or garages. Then just tap “End Ride” in the app.
How do I pay
Your rides are paid automatically with your provided payment method - after you end your ride. So, make sure you press “end rental” after you've reached your destination
How do I check my ride history
You can always see your travel history in “My Rides/Your GLYDE history”.
Even though we don't have any hidden fees you need to follow the following points else we might in some cases have to charge for damages or extra effort.
- For driving without valid or confirmed contracts or for transferring your login data to others: 2,500 SEK
- Repair costs or loss of the vehicle due to violations by the customer: amount of bill
- Extra costs due to customer fault (e.g. towing of the vehicle, etc.): amount of bill
- Relocation of an illegally parked scooter: 500 SEK
- Hiding the GLYDE scooter in private or non-accessible areas: 500 SEK
- Return of the vehicle to the GLYDE service area (within the yellow border in the map view for your specific city): 500 SEK
What to think about
Before starting your ride, do a quick safety check to make sure the vehicle is okay. Do the brakes work? Is the handlebar loose? Are there any visible damages? If everything looks good, go for it!
Get the GLYDE up to speed first with one foot on the scooter’s footboard and the other pushing you forward (2-3 times). When rolling, put both feet on the footboard and press the blue throttle button on the right side of the handlebar. This will start the electric motor. By pressing the blue throttle button, you can accelerate and control the speed of your GLYDE. Please keep both feet on the footboard for a safe ride.
To slow down or stop you have two possibilities: either press the left throttle on the handlebar or push down the brake above the back wheel with your foot. Or both!
For your own safety we recommend to always wear a helmet when riding a GLYDE. Depending on your local traffic laws helmets can also be mandatory in some cities. Because changing urban mobility for good only works if you're safe at all times!
Where to ride a GLYDE
The local traffic laws applies to GLYDE. Unless mandated otherwise in your local traffic laws, use the bicycle path if there is one. Else use the road if possible. Please do not ride on sidewalks or in marked pedestrian zones. Just be considerate and take care of others.
How to park a GLYDE
Please make sure that:
- your parking space is open to the public and accessible to everyone.
- the space is within the permitted GLYDE area (please check the app).
- the parking spot doesn’t block public paths, driveways or building entrances.
- if there’s a bicycle rack nearby, it’s always a good place to park at!
- please do not park on private property or in backyards.
- pay extra attention to not park in access roads to hospitals, fire stations, schools or entrances to other public buildings.
Temporarily park the GLYDE
If you need to make an urgent phone call or want to make a pit stop, you don't have to end the rent! Reserve your GLYDE for yourself and lock it for others by opening the app and tapping on "Park" to give yourself a little break. If you want to continue with your GLYDE, go back to the app and press "Continue". But don't forget that you rent a GLYDE per minute. So, the clock runs even if you're not moving but the rent is activated.
No, sorry, that doesn't work! It’s not allowed to ride an Scooter with more than one person. For security reasons, you can only rent one eScooter per account. Good news: if you send a successful referral via the app, you will receive a free ride for up to 15 minutes.
How far can you go
The maximum distance will be up to approximately 40km when the battery is fully charged.
Speed mode and limits
You can change your speed mode for GLYDE. Double click the power button to switch the mode:
- Red "S" icon: Sport mode (maximum power/speed and reduced range)
- White "S" icon: Standard mode (moderate power/speed and range)
- No "S" icon: Speed limit mode (minimum power/speed and increased range)
The maximum speed is 20-25km/h (depending on local laws), but always be cautious.
What should I do if my GLYDE runs out of battery
Stop the GLYDE and tap “End Ride” in the app. Then find a new GLYDE nearby and start a new ride. Do not try to charge a GLYDE, only our certified agents can and know how to do it.
Found a broken GLYDE
If you encounter a damaged GLYDE, please report it to our customer service team via the GLYDE app.
The GLYDE ain’t here, but it’s on the map
A GLYDE appears on the map in your APP, but you can't find the scooter? Then check:
- Is your GPS activated and does it show your current location?
- Are there any obstacles in your area? The GLYDE might be hidding behind one
- If neither of the two steps helped, please report the missing scooter and look out for the next available GLYDE for a great ride.
A GLYDE is broken down
If there seems to be something wrong with you scooter during your rental, please stop riding immediately and report the problem to us. In the app you’ll find all the contact details of our customer service where our staff will listen to all your problems – as long as they concern a GLYDE.
Unlock your GLYDE
The GLYDE is asleep and won’t wake up and activate? Then check the connection of your smartphone. Does it have enough coverage and data volume? Is the GLYDE Scooter really close enough to you? Does the GLYDE have enough battery?
